Who We Are
Friday Obaseime’s journey is one of remarkable perseverance and the unwavering pursuit of a better life. Born into a family of nine in the humble village of Aroko, Nigeria, he experienced the challenges of poverty firsthand. His early life was marked by the struggle to make ends meet, but even in those difficult circumstances, a spark of ambition and a desire to make a difference ignited within him.
Before entering the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and working his way up to becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and ultimately a Registered Nurse (RN), Friday’s path was paved with numerous challenges. He arrived in the United States with his wife, determined to create a brighter future. To make ends meet, he took on a variety of jobs, including working as a parking lot valet and many other positions. Their journey in America was marked by both hope and hurdles.
Starting anew as CNAs, they faced not only the trials of adapting to a new culture but also the harsh realities of discrimination and racism. They arrived with no family by their side, and few friends in this unfamiliar land, but their unwavering determination propelled them forward. With each step forward in their healthcare careers, they demonstrated that adversity could not deter them from achieving their goals.
Their journey, from working dead-end jobs to reaching the pinnacle of their nursing professions, is a testament to their resilience and unwavering faith in the American dream. Over the course of a decade, their home healthcare agency flourished, and their story serves as an inspiring example of how determination and unwavering commitment can transform adversity into opportunity. Today, they have founded the Obaseime Family Nonprofit Foundation, embodying the power of the human spirit to make a meaningful impact on the world and inspire others to overcome challenges and give back to their community.
